You’re so confused. I can already sense it. I usually do Friday Links, and that’s using the word usually pretty loosely since I apparently suffer from some calendar scheduling incapability that’s probably a close cousin of procrastination. But this week, well, THIS week is some kind of special, because yesterday I awoke to a barrage of phone notifications alerting me to the fact that the interwebs were throwing me a surprise virtual baby shower (#EmsPigletParty) for our little piglet.
A surprise. Virtual. Baby shower. Because that’s a thing. WHAT! ♥♥♥
And also: awesome sauce collection!
(That’s like your Great Uncle Marty’s collection of hot sauces. Minus all the ass-burning puns. Plus lots more awesomeness.)
Honestly, waking up to discover that friends like Gina (So…Let’s Hang Out) and Sherrie (With Food + Love) have rounded up the internet’s sweetest, most talented food bloggers to celebrate your impending arrival is kind of an unbeatable way to start the day. (If you’re on the fence about getting knocked up, the incentive of a virtual baby shower is definitely a reason to pass GO, collect your $twohunny and be on your merry, preggy way.) My heart is so completely warmed, my tastebuds so completely tantalized, by this collection of crazy delicious posts from some of my favorite people — and knowing it’s all in honor of our itty bitty person-to-be just makes it all the more surreal.
THANK YOU THANK YOU to all the bloggers below for sharing your creative foodie vibes, words of wisdom and well wishes as we count down these last few weeks. And, of course, to my homies G + Sherrie for taking the time to host such a special shindig. The happy-ugly tears positively refuse to stop flowing.
Without further ado, here’s the full recap of #EmsPigletParty recipes. I know you’ll enjoy them as much as I do!
xo,
Em

Oh! Em! Gee! There’s not even enough time, meals, or grocery trips to try all these delicious recipes until the baby she-piglet arrives. Happy v-shower! (not like a vjj shower, but like a virtual baby shower.)
I mean, I knew what you meant, but I still appreciate the clarification. We’ll definitely have to dig up summa these eggie recipes when we’re plowing through bowls of leftover red eggs later this summer. (Or do people eat ALL the red eggs?) <3 you, Mir.
The virtual baby shower was so fun! Thanks for sharing the love on your space too. I can’t wait to see pics of your piglet!!!! My coworker’s wife actually just had a baby THIS MORNING and I can’t wait to see her little face in here. Good luck to you lady. xoxo
Thank YOU, Sara, for “coming” to the party! Seriously still so shocked/amazed/dazzled by everyone’s creations! And THIS MORNING, HOLY! Was it a boy or a girl? Weight? Name? Does she want to share her birth story with me, like, tomorrow? Should we swap emailies? Can you tell I’m at that creepy stage where I need all the birthing knowledge ever and nothing is too personal? 😉
Ha! I’m not even pregs and I want to know all of the details too. It was a girl, 6 lb. 3 oz, and her name is Anna Lee. That’s about all I know. They went to the hospital around midnight and she gave birth around 6:30 am. 😐 But I think it went well! This was number 2 for her.
OMG, A+++ on doing your homework, Sara! That’s some good shit. (Also, number 2. Heh….)
It was so fun to participate and I think the recipes turned out to be so great because they were all inspired by you and your excellent/unique/quirky-delicious taste in food!
Awh, thanks Nicole! I love quirky and wouldn’t have had it any other way. And really — those peppers!!! Lemon AND miso AND parmesan AND sesame?! Deez salivary glands are firing something fierce! <3
Many congrats to you two, lady!!! Thanks for sharing the goodness here – what a collection, huh? <3
Thanks Alanna! And yeah — SUCH a hunky collection. I basically want to marry and make (more) babies with every single recipe. And then have more virtual showers in which I do the same. I see this getting out of control rather quickly…
