Big Reveal Sunday!

Fortunately, Big Reveal Sunday also coincides with Cinco de Mayo, which is incredibly handy since the two are actually a bit related. How boggled is your mind right now?

I’ve alluded a couple of times on this blog (and on Facebook. And Twitter — what? I’m excited!) that I’ve been working on a fun foodie project on the side, and today I’m positively giddy to reveal that I’ve joined the team over at Joyus.com as one of their food hosts! 

Joyus is an online shopping site that features incredibly thoughtfully curated finds in fashion, beauty, food, tech and lifestyle categories and uniquely showcases each item with a fun, informative, entertaining video component.

Imagine seeing a pair of jeans online and wondering how they fit a petite woman versus a tall model. On Joyus, those jeans would be accompanied by video describing their fabrication, the story behind their design, fashionable styling details and plenty of glimpses of how they fit on real women. It’s pretty fab.

On the food side of things, you’ll be introduced to everything from artisan treats and gourmet gifts to chef-inspired tools and exciting DIY kits designed to inspire new kitchen adventures. And you should see the roster of fabulous women that have already joined Joyus Food as hosts. To say I’m humbled is an understatement.

Seriously, so blessed.

But enough about me — let’s get into the fun stuff. More specifically…

Tamales!

Just in time for Cinco de Mayo, Joyus is featuring this rockstar tamale kit that will have you looking like an expert in Mexicuisine in no time. (Full disclosure: tamales are a celebrated tradition in Chris’ family, and yet somehow I’ve never managed to gussy up the confidence to make them myself until I checked out this kit. Whoops!)

Just round up an onion, a few cloves of garlic and the filling of your choice (chicken, pork or veggie) and you’re dialed for a truly legit, Mother-In-Law-endorsed, Mexican dinner.

It’s simple stuff guys. And for every kit purchased, a meal is donated to a local Bay Area food bank. Tell me that’s not cool. I dare you.
