I gotta tell ya, I was really feeling like starting this post off with an overused acronym like OMG or TGIF and then stopped myself. Because ICBMO (I can be more original), right? But really, that’s how I’m feeling — short on words and big on bursts of emotion because oh my goodness it IS Friday and I AM thanking God. I’m so ready to snap on my skis and hit up some mediocre pow this weekend that it’s not even funny. Gnar to the extreme. Rip, shred, dude-bro, it’s gonna be epic. Wow, can you imagine if I spoke … Read More
Super Cinchy Crunchy Oven-Fried Ravioli
As I write this, we’re watching Donnie Darko on Netflix. Chris has never seen it, and I’m seeing it again for the first time in years. Like my favorite Trader Joe’s gouda, it’s gotten even better with age. And am I alone, or is there something warm and fuzzy about siblings playing siblings in the movies? I love it. These ravioli have nothing to do with Donnie Darko, but they would be an excellent lunch to share with an imaginary friend. Or a real friend, for that matter. In fact, my real friend Emily requested this recipe on the blog, … Read More
Sucking less at food photos. Kinda.
Hola peebles. Hope your Thursday is slightly less dreary than mine. It’s kind of a sickly grey (gray?) outside today, and to be honest, it’s a little grey inside, too. Inside my heart. Because Parenthood is over for the season. And true to the rumors I read on the interwebs, the season finale was so neat and clean, I fear it may not be coming back. For those of you thinking, “this is so yesterday’s news,” I know, and I’m sorry. But I’m not sorry that my cable bill went from upwards of $100/month to like $18 between Netflix and Hulu. … Read More
Shredded Brussie Salad with Lemon Meyer Vinaigrette (and a Full Circle guest post)
Hi guys! Posting a bit quickly today as I am on the road in Ontario, CA, traveling for business. Haven’t spent much time exploring these parts, but I do recall the last time I was here it was to accompany Chris to his mechanical engineering exam. I spent more than seven hours wandering the expanses of Ontario Mills outlet mall alone. (All things considered, it could have been a lot worse. Didn’t lead to nearly the number of pity purchases that solo shopping usually facilitates.) Get this, though. That was a whopping eeeiiiiggght e-i-g-h-t years ago. Sheebus, time flies. So … Read More
The city charms again, or A brief ladies weekend in SF
It’s been a lovely couple of days here in the SF Bay Area, and contrary what to is usually the case, the weather in San Francisco proper has been no exception. On Friday evening, Emily and I crawled up 101 to the City for a ladies night of shopping, Thai food and glitzing about the town Say Yes to the Dress. It was joyfully girly and only a tad crippling to the pocketbook given that, Em’s (or Ems’ in this instance) fave boutique, Ambiance, never fails to be a treasure trove of both luxuries and bargains. I left the store with … Read More
